Rhyme’s shirt progress

I’ve finished sewing Rhyme’s shirt! I started with white cotton jersey, so that I could dye it to the right color afterwards. I ran into the same problem I had with Zia’s fabrics. When I found a fabric with the color I liked, it wasn’t the right type of fabric and vice versa.

You might also be wondering why I bothered to sew her shirt instead of buying one. I wanted the fit to be close to how she’s drawn.

  • I made the shirt fitted towards the top, but it flares out towards the bottom.
  • The sleeves are long and go past my knuckles.
  • The collar is wider than usual.
  • The shoulder is wider so that the sleeves start past my shoulder.

Rhyme’s shorts – finished!

I finished Rhyme’s shorts! I had a minor setback because I forgot to buy buttons, so I couldn’t finish them until today XD;;

Since last time, I’ve added the top overalls part, which hangs over the front and back. Like the shorts, the overalls are lined with a thin broadcloth, and then I folded the edges over to create a border.

Initial Rhyme progress

I finished the Elsa costume for my friend’s daughter, so now I can switch gears and start on Rhyme!

I started with Rhyme’s shorts/overalls. I have the bottom shorts part finished and am working on adding the overalls part next. I basically made some baggy shorts with front and back pockets. I used twill and lined it with broadcloth to make sure it wasn’t see-through.
